Working Together for Your Child’s Success

An image of Principal Scott Doss

At Oologah-Talala Lower Elementary, we believe that when families and schools work together, children thrive! We are committed to creating a safe, caring, and fun learning environment where every child can grow—and your support at home makes a big difference.

Here are a few simple ways to help your child do their best:

  • Create a Homework Habit: Pick a quiet spot and a regular time each day for your child to do homework.

  • Read Together: Spend 15–20 minutes reading with your child every day. This builds language skills and helps them love books!

  • Limit Screen Time: Keep TV, games, and devices to a minimum during school nights so your child can focus and rest.

  • Praise Their Effort: Celebrate hard work and progress, even if everything isn’t perfect yet.

  • Keep Routines Healthy: Make sure your child gets plenty of sleep and eats healthy meals—bodies and brains need fuel!

  • Stay in Touch: Use ParentSquare to connect with your child’s teacher. We’re here to answer questions and work with you to support your child.

Together, we can build a strong foundation for learning and help your child shine—both in school and beyond. Please reach out to your child’s teacher or the school office if you ever need anything.

Warm regards,
Scott Doss

  • ParentSquare

All schools in our district use ParentSquare for school communication primarily with email, text, and app notifications.

ParentSquare automatically syncs with our student information system to generate an account for each parent, using their preferred email address and phone number. We encourage parents to access their accounts so they can download the mobile app and update their preferences on when and how they are notified.

ParentSquare is a safe, secure, and modern approach to communication and collaboration between school and home. Learn more and get started today by viewing our ParentSquare web page
